Donated sum will be used to purchase medical equipment – resulting in improved quality of healthcare for people with special needs
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives and its ongoing support of humanitarian causes, Doha Bank recently offered financial support to the Qatar Society for Rehabilitation of Special Needs for purchase of medical equipment.
The cheque was handed over by Mr. Ahmed Ali Al Hanzab, Head of Administration of Doha Bank, to Mr. Taleb Ofaifa, Board Member of Qatar Society for Rehabilitation of Special Needs.
“At Doha Bank we always strive to find ways to reach out to those in need and help people with special needs,” said Mr. Ahmed Ali Al Hanzab. “Doha Bank is committed to an inclusive and equitable society that upholds the rights and dignity of all people without discrimination, and improving the quality of lives of underprivileged sections of our society continues to remain a key CSR priority for us.”
He added, “The Qatar Society for Rehabilitation of Special Needs has, for the past several years, been engaged in promoting a culture of non-discrimination and respect for diversity while striving to improve access to quality education and healthcare for people with disabilities, and we are happy to support them in their noble endeavor. We believe the private sector has a crucial role to play in the development process and making direct financial contributions can go a long way in creating equal opportunities for people with special needs and facilitating their integration into society.”
Widely recognized as a CSR leader in Qatar, Doha Bank has received a number of regional and international awards for demonstrating excellence in social and environmental responsibility, including the “2015 Golden Peacock Global Award for Corporate Social Responsibility” and the “2015 Environmental Award” given out by the Arab Organization for Social Responsibility.
The Qatar Society for Rehabilitation of Special Needs is a humanitarian organization that aims to support and develop the skills and capacities of people with disabilities and enable them to take an active part in society and lead a normal life.
